MPC recruiting for Automotive Sign Writer

The Melbourne Performance Centre is looking for an Automotive Sign Writer to join the team.

One of Melbourne’s leading race car teams, MPC has competed in categories including Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS, Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup, with a record of success.

The team has a reputation for building, maintaining and managing some of the best high-performance and race cars in the country.

It is now on the lookout for a skilled sign writer and installer to apply graphics to its fleet of GT, TCR and Porsche machinery.

Melbourne Performance Centre owner Troy Russell said it is an exciting time to join the team.

“There is plenty going on in the workshop, we look after a variety of different cars and have recently joined Carrera Cup,” Russell said.

“We have an opening in the team for a motivated, self-starter with experience in the design phase of the process, as well as working with corporate sponsors, doing the design, mock-ups through to the installation on the car.

“There is a bit of variety in what we do, we’ve got all the equipment here in the side shop, we just need a person that can run it.

“There is opportunity for travel with the role, it is not a necessity of the role, but if someone wanted to travel with the team, there is that opportunity as well.”

It is desirable that candidates for the role have passion and skill for both design and application are highly sort after, while experience in the signwriting and or automotive industries would be advantageous.

Duties as part of the role include design work for full vehicle wraps and stickering, removal and installation of vinyl graphics and wraps on race cars, trucks, and equipment, repair work to previously installed graphics and wraps on race cars, as well as general sign writing and graphics production.

Previous experience with Adobe Illustrator, VersaWorks and Roland equipment is considered valuable by the employer.
