Tickford Racing is an elite team in the Supercars Championship. The team runs 2 x Generation 3 Ford Mustang Supercars in the main VCS series, along with a program of 3 x Generation 2 Mustangs in the DS2 Series. The team is unique in that we are responsible for the design, manufacturing, building and maintenance of each of our race cars. Our facility and headquarters are based in Campbellfield, Melbourne’s Northern suburbs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Team Manager to Lead our Super 2 program both at track and all preparations leading up to all races. You will also be required to be responsible for various

daily workshop and commercial logistics that the Company is involved with.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual within motorsport to join the team in this fast-paced and exciting role.

The Assistant Team Manager reports to the Team Manager. In conjunction with the Team Manager, you will be responsible for the appropriate planning and delivery of all workshop activities.

Thie role will include relevant trade staff training and supervision & co-ordination. The role will primarily have 6-10 direct reports.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Manage the car build, service and race preparations
• Supervision and development of staff in the Super2 series
• Plan and execute all relevant preparations of the race cars and their logistics
• Drive fitness and pit stop training weekly throughout the team
• Maintaining the lifing of car components by the build technicians and No1 Mechanics
• Manage and be responsible for the safety of the workshop and all equipment and tools
• Professionally maintain a clean, tidy and organized working environment to ensure health and safety
• Attend all race events and test days

Skills and qualifications required:

• Possess a qualification in motor mechanics
• Motorsport experience necessary – minimum of 5 years’ experience as a No1 Mechanic

necessary

• Experience in a leadership role
• Experience working alongside engineers
• Strong communication skills
• Fabrication and general workshop experience necessary
• OHS training is desired• Flexibility in hours and approach- travel is required
• Be physically fit and able

This is a travelling role which requires frequent travel on race events and test days.
