Speedcafe.com is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable writer to join its expanding editorial team based on the Gold Coast.

In 2021, the site achieved nearly 60 million pageviews, experiencing a 20 percent growth on the previous year.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Based on the Gold Coast out of the Speedcafe.com office.

• General news writing with a focus on national and international categories
• Social media creation and activation
• General newsroom duties
• Contribution to daily news conferences
• Development of feature concepts and ideas

ABOUT YOU:

The successful candidate will:

• Have a strong passion for and knowledge of motorsport 
• Be able to accurately report on racing and write news stories in a timely manner 
• Have strong news sense, writing and interview skills
• Be motivated, have a collaborative work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
• Have apt social media skills and show creativity in that space
• Demonstrate an ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced news environment
• Be prepared for travel and weekend work
• Have basic IT and website skills
