Grove Racing competes in the Australian Supercars Championship as well as fielding cars in Super2, Australian GT and Porsche Carrera Cup. We have an opportunity to be part of our growing team as Lead Sub-Assembly Technician.

You will have an unwavering determination to win and be an open, honest and communicative team player. Primarily based from our factory in Braeside Victoria, you will also travel to all Supercars events and test days where you will work collaboratively within the team and be responsible for ensuring all assemblies are prepared to the highest standards by utilising all the correct quality build procedures.

This role will be responsible for:

• Build of all key car sub-assemblies including uprights and suspension, steering, airjack assemblies, pedal box, brake calipers and components, gearbox and associated sub-assemblies

• Service and preparation of Xtrac transmission and associated components

• Manage component life of all race car sub-assemblies, ensure components are serviced and replaced at required intervals

• Plan service cycles of sub-assemblies around race events and test days

• Service and sign-off of assemblies for use on our race cars, ensuring they comply with technical regulations

• Communication with mechanics, race engineers and other department leaders

• Ensure the correct assemblies are installed to highest of standards at both the factory and race events

• Ensure that all required items of equipment, spare parts are loaded into the transporter for each event

• Always ensuring tasks are completed to a very high standard, often to tight deadlines and in a pressurised environment

• Keeping work area clean and organised

• Attend all post event briefings, reporting on performance and areas to improve

• Develop ideas that will increase car performance, reliability, and crew efficiency

Requirements, skills and attributes:

• A high level of mechanical knowledge. Motorsport experience is preferred

• Extensive knowledge of all vehicle sub-assembly components and experience in the assembly/rebuilding of such components

• Experience in servicing and sign off of components including but not limited to: gearboxes and associated gearbox sub-assemblies, front and rear upright assemblies, clutches, brake calipers and brake components to a consistently high standard

• Meet performance criteria to be part of the pit crew

• Exceptional communication skills, self-motivated and a be a collaborative team player

• Computer skills including Microsoft office programs: Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Share Point

• Experience using component lifing software

• Work calmly and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations

• Manage workload efficiently to meet tight deadlines

• Operate in a positive & professional manner

• Diploma or degree in technical field will be highly regarded
