Triple Eight Race Engineering is recruiting for a motivated individual to join the team as an R&D Reporting and Data Engineer.

The most successful team in Australian motorsport is looking for a driven, highly organised and team-orientated individual for the role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting research and development activities across the organisation, compiling and writing reports on the R&D activities, as well as analysing data and producing corresponding reports regarding race team performance.

It is critical that the candidate has an understanding of engineering design and able to meet strict deadlines.

Possessing a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, it is desirable that the candidate is able to write detailed, accurate and well-written reports, have an aptitude for mechanical design and have excellent written communication skills, with previous Motec experience considered a bonus, but not a requirement.

Triple Eight Race Engineering Co-Owner Jessica Dane said the successful candidate will play a key role in the team.

“Research and development is a huge part of Triple Eight’s engineering and manufacturing business so this role is a very important part of our day-to-day operations,” Dane said.

“It presents a fantastic opportunity to learn about how a race team works and motorsport more broadly, with plenty of scope to grow within the business.

“It’s the perfect job for an engineer fresh out of uni or nearing the end of their degree who has their heart set on a career in this industry.

“The right candidate will have excellent writing skills as reporting is a major part of this role, as well as strong attention to detail and an ability to work to deadlines.

“Triple Eight has a strong culture where everyone is driven to win and we look forward to welcoming a new engineer who has the same ambition to achieve excellence.”

Based out of the Brisbane-based squad’s Advanced Manufacturing centre at Banyo, on-site benefits of the role include free off-road parking and subsidised lunches.

Perks of the role include the opportunity to attend races, hot laps, discounted merchandise and more.
