Peters Motorsport is recruiting for a mechanic.

Peters Motorsport is on the lookout for a mechanic to join its team.

Established in 2001, Peters Motorsport has competed in categories such as SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, as well as Supercars.

The Queensland-based outfit is recruiting for a mechanic to assist with the preparation of its Touring Car Masters Holden Torana A9X for Ryan Hansford, fleet of V8 Experience race cars, as well as vehicles for customers that race locally and interstate.

The role requires a candidate with two years minimum experience as a motor mechanic, good communication skills, record-keeping experience, as well as a positive attitude.

Team Manager Brett Peters said it is a varied role.

“We specialise in race cars, we don’t really do road cars,” Peters said.

“We have our TCM car, as well as our customer cars that come through the workshop from Hyundai Excels to Porsches, all sorts of different race cars.”

Peters Motorsport is currently making its way through a 10-car build for the V8 Race Experience, with an order consisting of five Ford Mustangs and five Chevrolet Camaros.

“We are a pretty small organisation, small race team, but Rod [Dawson] also owns the V8 Race Experience company, and he’s been building the new Camaros and Mustangs for that, so there’s also the opportunity to occasionally go out to Queensland Raceway and keep those cars up to spec,” Peters added.

He went onto say that it is a busy workshop.

“I won’t shy away from the fact that it’s a busy place, it’s always tricky being in motorsport, you got to keep everything lean and mean,” Peters explained.

“Initially there’s no travel required for this position, it’s predominantly working at Kippa-Ring and then the occasional day at Queensland Raceway, because the fleet of V8 Race Experience cars is based out there.”

Applications for the role close on Friday, January 13, 2023.
