Senior Race Mechanic required in Australian GT team

The Mercedes AMG GT3 of Tigani Motorsport at the 2023 Bathurst 12 Hour

Tigani Motorsport is seeking a Senior Race Mechanic for their professional motorsport operation based out of Wollongong, NSW.

The role will entail experience in the motorsport industry due to the nature of being responsible for the specialised development and performance of Tigani Motorsport’s GT cars.

This also includes the maintenance of race cars running in categories that Tigani Motorsport competes in.

These are the Australian GT, Porsche Sprint Challenge, Production Sports and Super Sports competitions.

The Bathurst 12 Hour and Challenge Bathurst are the team’s biggest track days and events.

In the 2023 Bathurst 12 Hour, Tigani Motorsport joined forces with Valmont Racing to enter the Mercedes AMG GT3 and topped the Silver class, qualifying in P9.

The Mercedes crashed out halfway through the race drawing the second Safety Car of the 12 Hour event, but Team Owner Nathan Tigani reflects on the weekend with engineering and mechanical achievement for the team.

“I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s efforts at Mount Panorama,” said Tigani on Facebook.

“We only got the last parts we needed to upgrade the car to the current spec on the Thursday.

“So to get out on track with no faults and get into the Top Ten Shootout was a huge reward for everyone’s efforts.

“While the end wasn’t ideal, we showed we could build a fast race car. We’re now working through our options to get the Valmont Racing AMG back on track.”

To excel in the application, successful applicants will have a proven knowledge of various motorsport software and an ability to set up race cars to a build specification.

Tigani’s team community requires individuals to be a team player and have an ability to work and solve issues under pressure.

A performance and results driven mindset is also a key attribute.

A capability to travel with the team within NSW and interstate on the weekends is a requirement, alongside being a fit and healthy individual who can help the team lift heavy items through race paddocks.

Total salary packages for the position are negotiable on the basis of qualifications and experience for shortlisted applicants.
