Motorsport Australia is recruiting for the newly-created Rally and Off Road Manager role.

The successful applicant will be responsible for oversight of the Rally and Off Road disciplines across the country.

Key responsibilities of the role include the management of all Rally and Off Road rules and regulations, attending the Australian Rally Commission (ARCom), The Australian Off Road Commission (AORCom), the Tarmac Rally Working Group (TRWG) and the Finke Desert Race Governance Committee (FDRGC), managing and delivering any projects related to innovation or development of the Rally and Off Road landscape, lead relations across all Rally and Off Road Championships and Series, as well as assist in the management of the Australian Rally Championship (ARC) and the Australian Off Road Championship (AORC).

Initially, the role will be focused on implementing the recommendations from the Targa Review Panel.

“This is an important role for rallying and off-road in Australia,” Motorsport Australia Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operations Michael Smith said.

“A large part of the role will be to work with event organisers, the Motorsport Australia Board and the Australian Rally Commission in ensuring the 94 recommendations can be implemented as we prepare for the return of Targa-style tarmac rallies.

“This role will also work very closely with the Australian Off Road Commission to make sure the off-road discipline continues to grow and adapt in the years ahead.

“Safety and regulations will also be a key part of this role across both the broader rally and off-road disciplines and we are looking forward to seeing the applications as they come in.

“We would certainly be interested to hear from people with experience in the disciplines, including competitors who understand the various challenges that exist across the sport, as well as building on the many strengths that already exist.
