Supercars Championship squad Tickford Racing is searching for an experienced motorsport mechanic to join the team.

The elite Victorian-based outfit campaigns four Ford Mustangs in the 2023 Supercars Championship for 2010 title winner James Courtney, Cameron Waters, Thomas Randle and Declan Fraser, while in the Super2 Series it runs Ford Mustangs for 2022 Super3 Series winner Brad Vaughan and Elly Morrow.

While the 2023 season is already underway, the team is hoping to find a highly motivated individual with motorsport experience to join the team as a Race Mechanic, to assist with the maintenance and preparation of its quartet of Mustangs in the Supercars Championship.

Duties for the role include ensuring the designated car is prepared for race events and test days, ensuring it is modified according to the engineer’s specification and safety requirements, servicing and maintaining all equipment on the car, as well as maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment.

The role requires a qualification in motor mechanics, as well as previous mechanical experience in high-level motorsport, including race car build and maintenance and performing pit stops.

Knowledge of vehicle set-up and race car preparation, working within a professional race team and the ability to work under minimal supervision to strict deadlines is also required.

Strong communication skills, fitness, as well as flexibility in hours and approach are also desirable.

Applicants for the role must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency, willing to travel to race events, as well as have a ‘can-do attitude and wanting to contribute to the success of the team.
