Retail Counter Sales/Warehouse Operator

About THE ROLE

This position will suit a self-motivated, ‘hands on” individual who enjoys performing a variety of duties and tasks and working as a key member of the team. Your daily activities will involve working between the Counter Sales and Warehouse.

A level of physical fitness is needed as this role requires manually lifting heavy items.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm,1 hour lunch break. (40 hours week)

The main duties of this role include:

• Provide great customer service for our face-to-face customers, plus over the phone and email.
• Cash handling, sales & invoicing, stock maintenance & stocktaking (training provided)
• Checking, charging and fitting batteries (training provided)
• General warehousing duties, assisting with goods inwards and outwards
• Accurate picking, packing and dispatching of customer orders
• Loading and unloading of trucks when required
• Forklift operations (if licenced)
• Assist in maintaining the warehouse in neat and orderly manner
• Assist with deliveries when required

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Previous experience in a similar position handling Warehouse and Counter Sales/Customer Service duties
• Current Forklift licence is preferred
• Mechanical knowledge will be highly regarded
• Confident and comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone
• Able to match numbers, follow written instructions, have a high attention to detail and memory for part numbers
• Must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, including some repetitive lifting (30kgs) while observing safe lifting practices.
• Professionally presented and comfortable being the face of the company
• Flexible and adaptable working within a fast-paced, changing environment
• You have good computer skills and are willing to learn Point of Sale processes
• Like to have fun!
